I am facilitating a “recovery through writing” workshop at SerenityStar Recovery Resource Center in Smithville, Texas.  The purpose of these workshops is to assist recovering individuals with a creative method to use their voice and undergird their conscious contact with God.  There are multiple ways to communicate and writing is powerful among them.

One of the participants in this workshop completed two exercises a few weeks apart and shared these results:

First Exercise:

I don’t believe in God. Athiest, me. But I do want to stay clean, So HERE I AM!”    7 days clean

Fourth Exercise 3 Weeks Later Exercise:

“Please God, I’m broken! i need you. i don’t know if you’re real. I need honesty and that scares me! Where do I go from here?

My mind is broken. I’m scared. Take me in your Wings. Hide me. Protect me. Let it be so.”         29 days clean

I can’t begin to express the power of recovery at work, as expressed in these results…Charlie
